3rd Regional Consular Days in Ouahigouya

After Tenkodogo in December 2018, Koudougou in July 2019, Ouahigouya hosted on Saturday, December 7, 2019, the 3rd Regional Consular Days (JCR) of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso.

These Days were marked by the proceedings of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in this case the 16th ordinary session of the Consular Bureau and the 9th General Assembly of elected officials.

Two main points were discussed and adopted by all members; this includes the activity program and the 2020 budget of the Institution.

The adopted budget amounts to 29 billion CFA francs distributed as follows:
- $ 12.4 billion in operating expenses;
- $ 16.6 billion for investments;
- and $ 18 billion in operating revenues.

With satisfaction, the consular elected officials recognized and praised the performance of the Chamber of Commerce whose level of implementation of the Strategic Plan 2016-2021 mandate, after only two years, is estimated at more than 59%.
For the year 2020, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry intends to continue its investments in order to strengthen the dynamism and resilience of the economy of Burkina Faso. The investment budget will therefore make it possible to finance important projects such as:
- the extension of the dry port of Bobo-Dioulasso;
- start of the construction works for the dry multimodal port of Ouagadougou;
- the construction of economic infrastructures in the Regions;
- the construction of a cold room in Ouahigouya;
- the introduction of "honor loans" in 10 regions for a total amount of 200 million francs;
- the continuation of the construction work of the seats of the Regional Consular Delegations;
- the construction of the national headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, etc.

Initiated by the Consular Office, the JCRs aim to strengthen the proximity of the Institution of its nationals. This is what justified the holding, after the GA, of a meeting of exchanges with the economic operators and the driving forces of the Northern Region.

During this meeting, the authorities of the Chamber of Commerce have handed over checks worth 20 million CFA francs to ten (10) Regional Consular Delegations under the "Loans of Honor" initiative. , representing a total investment of 200 million F CFA.

Loans of honor are an innovative mechanism of support and financing for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) faced, in most cases, with the difficulties of guarantees to be met to qualify for bank financing. These are medium-term loans, generally between 2 and 5 years, granted without personal or real guarantees; which justifies their name of "loans of honor". Loans of honor do not bear interest; they are called "0 rate credits".
In his personal capacity and on behalf of the Ali GOURGA Foundation (named after his late father), the President of CCI-BF contributed 80 million CFA francs to pay the "Honorary loan" fund of the Regional Consular Delegation of the North of which he is a national. Following his example, Mr. Mahamadi OUEDRAOGO, President of the DCR also made a contribution of 20 million CFA francs. In situ, other economic operators made subscription announcements raising more than 127 million CFA francs for the "Loan of Honor" fund of the Northern Region.

In addition to this, the Chamber of Commerce through the DCR North has provided financial support worth 5 million CFA francs in support of internally displaced people victims of insecurity. By this gesture, the CCI-BF shows solidarity with the Government; it also renewed its support for the Defense and Security Forces and wished for peace and security to reign in our country.

PS: The 10 DCRs that received the "Loans of Honor" checks are Cascades, East, Central-East, Center-West, Center-North, Center-South, North, Plateau Central, the Southwest and the Sahel.
