2nd National Meeting Private Sector-State

The official opening of the 2nd edition of the National Meeting of the Framework for Consultation and Orientation for the State / Private Sector Dialogue (CODESP) took place today, October 14, 2019, at the House of Culture of Bobo Dioulasso.

Chaired by His Excellency the Prime Minister, Head of Government, this meeting brings together more than 700 economic operators around the Government.

The work of CODESP 2019 will be held over two days around the central theme entitled "Strategies for integrating Burkinabe enterprises into national, regional and international value chains".

In his official opening address, SEM. the Prime Minister expressed the satisfaction of the Government for the efforts made by private sector actors in Burkina Faso who, despite the national and international economic situation, have been resilient, pursuing with serenity the necessary investments for a real economic and social development of the country. "In the business world, I express my gratitude for its strong mobilization around this framework of consultation whose objective is to raise, in a concerted manner, the obstacles to the emergence of a dynamic private sector, creating jobs and wealth, "he said.
The State-Sector Dialogue is a tradition established since 2001; it is the perfect expression of a synergy of effective and constructive collaboration between the Government and the private sector of Burkina Faso. This national meeting is the culmination of a process that began in May 2019 through the organization of regional meetings in the 13 regional capitals that examined the concerns of the private sector at the deconcentrated level. The major recommendations resulting from the regional meetings as well as the specific concerns of the different sectors of activity were the subject of exchanges, during the sectoral consultations held on September 17, 23 and 24, 2019.

During the next 48 hours, CODESP participants will discuss concrete actions to initiate for the implementation of the recommendations resulting from the preliminary discussions.

The program includes communications around two sub-themes:

- sub-theme 1: Strategic alliances as tools for integration in value chains;

- sub-theme 2: Quality of Burkinabe products: state of play, challenges, challenges and perspectives.

A direct dialogue between the economic operators and the members of the Government will be organized as a follow-up to enable the concerns of the private sector to be effectively taken into account.
